Hi friends 🙂

I am going to be honest, I have struggled to start this blog. I felt like every topic I picked was never quite right. That is until I was listening to my music the other day and the song “God Only Knows” by For King and Country began playing. I just had this tug on my heart to share it with all of you. So let’s jump right in!

God is the only one who knows the journey each one of us is on.

God only knows where to find you

God only knows how to break through

God only knows the real you

There’s a kind of love that God only knows

We live in a world full of judgement and man made expectations. And what a relief and comfort it is to be able to turn to our God just as we are. In our darkest sin, weakness, and foolishness we can still know God’s love and know that He desires greatly to be with us despite everything He knows about us – and I mean everything. There is no dominant sin where God says “okay that’s it, I am done with you.” Rather God yearns for us to be with Him, tugging on our hearts, sending signs or people of encouragement, and performing incredible actions around us. If we seek Him, He will never turn away. In the midst of our own personal chaos and good or bad days God. Chooses. Us.

“The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is compassionate. The Lord guards the inexperienced; I was helpless, and he saved me.” Psalm 116:5-6

God is the source of all comfort.

God only knows what you’ve been through

God only knows what they say about you

God only knows how it’s killing you

There’s a kind of love that God only knows

We all have that one element of comfort; be it a friend to talk to, food to eat, or a show to watch. But these earthly things only bring comfort for a time. Eventually we all have to step back out into the world and face reality. Not with God. He is omnipresent, which is just a fancy word for anywhere and everywhere at one time. He sees our struggles and feels our pain and desires to heal our hearts. “Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” Matthew 11:28. God sent Jesus to die on the cross so that we could do just as He says here, and go to Him. Like the lyrics say, God knows how badly we are hurt and what has happened and He knows exactly how to mend us back together.

Thank you for all of your support! I would appreciate prayers as I continue to fundraise and prepare for the time that I will spend overseas doing something bigger than myself. I am so thankful and blessed for this opportunity I get to take.

All the love,

     Caroline
